Not all medicine is horrible.... A really cool vintage leather medicine ball dating from the early part of the 20th century. it oozes character - the panelled leather has all the wear expected with its age, and it has a metal ring in the top to hang it up, or attach to a rope. But what would I do with it you ask ?? Personally I can't think of a home exercise/weight with more character and charm (modern weights tend to be charmless). Alternatively you could use it as we do, and have an uber cool door stop.
